About Dr. Malisa
A doctor’s rigour, a friend’s warmth.
I’m Dr. Malisa Carullo, a naturopathic doctor. I believe good health advice should be backed by evidence and realistic enough to fit into your actual life. Online, you may know me as the Vitamin Fairy.
Naturopathic Doctor since 2011 · MSc Biology · 12 years in clinical & medical affairs

My story
From the lab bench to real life.
My path to naturopathic medicine started in science. I earned a master’s degree in biology, studying genetics and molecular evolution, before becoming a naturopathic doctor in 2011. I’ve kept a private practice ever since.
For the last twelve years I’ve also worked behind the scenes in the professional supplement industry, in clinical and medical affairs. I review the evidence, answer practitioners’ toughest questions and keep safety front and centre. That work taught me exactly how to tell a well-supported product from a well-marketed one.
In practice, I kept hearing the same thing: “I’ve read so much, and I don’t know what to believe.” Wellness advice is everywhere, and much of it contradicts itself.
My work is to separate what the research supports from what it doesn’t, and turn the good parts into steps you can take this week.
Philosophy of care
Evidence first. Real life always.
- Honest evidenceI’ll tell you what the research supports, how strong that evidence is, and when the honest answer is “we don’t know yet.”
- The whole pictureHormones, digestion, sleep, stress, nutrition and movement all affect one another. I look at how they connect, not at one symptom in isolation.
- Small, lasting changesThe best plan is the one you can live with. A few well-chosen habits, practised consistently, beat a dramatic overhaul you abandon in week two.
- Team-based careNaturopathic care works best alongside your medical team, and I’m always clear about when something needs a different kind of care.

Vitamin Fairy
Meet the Vitamin Fairy.
Vitamin Fairy is where I answer the questions my patients ask most, for anyone who needs the answers.
The name is a little playful on purpose. Health information doesn’t have to feel clinical or intimidating to be accurate. On Instagram and in Fairy Notes, you’ll find the same approach I bring to practice: clear explanations, honest evidence and a friendly voice.
